Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. The RN ensures quality care is provided efficiently and safely, consistent with unit standards. The role requires demonstrating quality and effectiveness in clinical practice and work habits, while treating staff, physicians, patients, and families with respect.


Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
  • Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
  • BLS Certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in Med Surg specialty

Skills and Experience

  • Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served
  • Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients’ rights in care delivery
  • Clear and concise communication appropriate to patient developmental age

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
  • Clean, well-lighted, ventilated, smoke-free environment
  • Subject to stressful professional relationships and variable working hours due to emergencies or schedule changes
  • Must handle emergency/crisis situations
  • Requires prolonged standing and walking, heavy physical effort to position, push, or transfer patients or equipment
  • Requires reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
  • Good visual and hearing acuity (normal or correctable)
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination required

Reports to Patient Care Director or Manager
