MRI Technologist - Charleston, South Carolina (Travel Contract)

Job Summary

• Perform MRI procedures under the supervision of certified radiologists.
• Assist radiologists during procedures and supervise student MRI Technologists.
• Ensure patient care and safety during imaging procedures using age-appropriate care.
• Obtain correct written orders and efficiently manage patient care assignments.
• Utilize imaging equipment effectively to minimize repeat exams.
• Prepare and instruct patients regarding imaging procedures and assist with informed consent.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, patients, and family members.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital and safety policies.
• Practice radiation safety according to ALARA principles and regulatory guidelines.
• Support departmental goals and collaborate as a team player.
• Demonstrate flexibility, accountability, and initiative in improving operations.

Required Qualifications

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
• Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Professional program.
• Prefer experience in cross-sectional anatomy or MRI.

Work Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting/moving patients (up to 50 lbs).
• Frequent use of hand/finger dexterity and reaching with hands/arms.
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, radiation, and chemicals.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions, deadlines, irregular hours, and possible call or weekend/holiday shifts.
• Corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
