Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Portland, Oregon
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Position does not float between units
  • On-call required: Yes, one weeknight per week (6 PM - 7:30 AM) and approximately every 5th weekend (Friday 6 PM to Monday 7:30 AM)
  • Weekends are not required
  • Block schedules are not required
  • Expected patient ratio: 1:1
  • Special requirements:
    • Certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) with experience in stroke/cerebral angiograms, cardiac, and interventional radiology (IR) preferred
    • Must be an experienced traveler; no first-time travel assignments accepted

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
  • Education verification required
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
    • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
  • Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually)

Scheduling and Floating

  • Floating to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance may be required
  • One weeknight on-call per week and approximately every 5th weekend on-call

Training and Competency

  • Must complete required WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
    • Annual regulatory requirements
    • Specialty-specific modules for Oregon region
    • Facility-specific modules as assigned
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
  • Epic training modules required for access to electronic health records

References and Employment History

  • Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
  • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors) with month/year format for dates worked
  • Skills checklists required annually for applicable units

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must be able to work with or without accommodation (specify any accommodations needed)
  • Candidate must be able to comply with Providence Health and Services policies and procedures
  • Parking is free at the facility

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with prior travel assignments who are comfortable with on-call responsibilities and working in a short-term acute care setting using Epic charting.
