Job Description

• Perform specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under minimal supervision to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Utilize MRI and CT scanners to capture specific images as ordered by physicians.
• Follow physician instructions closely, prepare and operate imaging equipment, position patients correctly, and accurately record diagnostic images.
• Perform at least two imaging modalities including MRI and CT on various body areas such as cardiac, neuro, abdominal, chest, spine, and extremities.
• Transport and assist patients during procedures, including lifting and moving patients on/off imaging tables.
• Prepare patients by consenting, explaining exams, and answering questions.
• Administer contrast media and other preparations safely and timely; competent in loading and operating power injectors.
• Start IVs for procedures as ordered and may assist with emergency medical treatment under physician direction.
• Perform data entry in computer systems related to workflow and patient care (e.g., ITS, Meditech, PACS, EMAR, Pyxis).
• Monitor patient condition pre- and post-procedure and report changes to appropriate medical staff.
• Operate MR and CT systems skillfully, including proficiency with 3D software and post-processing reconstructions.
• Practice infection control and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Screen patients for MRI and CT safety, including assessing implanted device compatibility and pregnancy policies.
• Assist physicians with complex procedures and maintain department supplies and equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Must be proficient in venipuncture (IV starts).
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in MRI and CT imaging modalities.
• Ability to perform multiple imaging modalities (MRI and CT).
• Experience with patient care during imaging procedures, including transport and preparation.
• Competency in administering contrast media and operating power injectors.
• Familiarity with relevant computer systems for imaging workflow and documentation.
• Knowledge of MRI and CT safety protocols, including emergency procedures.
