Job Opportunity: Sonographer (Ultrasound Tech)
Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Sonographer specializing in general, OB, and vascular ultrasound imaging. The position is based in a radiology department with 3 scanners and 2 rooms. The role includes performing a variety of vascular, abdominal, pelvic, OB, small parts, and pediatric ultrasound studies.
Required Qualifications
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) via ARDMS
- Experience:
- Must have skills in General, OB, and Vascular ultrasound
- License:
- Relevant Sonography certifications as above
Job Details
- Department: Radiology - Ultrasound
- Typical Studies:
- Vascular: LEV, LEA, UEV, UEA, Carotid
- Abdomen: RUQ, renal, abdominal and renal Doppler
- Pelvis: Transabdominal and Transvaginal
- OB: 1st trimester, BPP, UAD, Growth scans
- Small Parts: Thyroid, scrotum
- Pediatrics: Neonatal heads, renals, appendix
- Average Scans per Day: Approximately 10
- Equipment: GE scanners
- EMR/PACS Systems: Epic, Synapse, Viewpoint
- Float/Cover: Yes, including weekend call coverage at an additional location
- IV Starts: Not required
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Shift: 4 days per week, 10-hour night shifts (Monday-Thursday, 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirements: 2-4 weekend day calls per month (dependent on staffing)
- Holiday Requirements: Work holidays that fall on scheduled days
- Orientation: 2 weeks, Monday-Thursday nights (8:00 PM - 6:30 AM) plus weekend day calls as above
- Dress Code: Royal blue tops and black pants (scrubs provided)
Additional Information
- Must be available in-state for the week of orientation
- Agency must provide traveler radiation badge
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
