Location: Prestonsburg, Kentucky

Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Minimum 2+ years of current experience in acute Behavioral Health/Psychiatric setting (required years of experience: 2+).
• Must be able to care for adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
• Patient ratio: 1:5.
• Schedule: 36 hours worked over 48 hours in a two-week pay period (36/48 schedule).
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
• RN must reside within 100 miles of the facility to be considered.
• Transportation is required due to limited public transit options in the area.

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid RN license for Kentucky or compact license valid in Kentucky.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification required.
• Immunizations and Health Requirements:

  • COVID-19 vaccine (religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentation).
  • Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer.
  • Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination.
  • Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer.
  • Tdap vaccine (valid for 10 years; declinations accepted).
  • Influenza vaccine (required Sept 1 - May 31; exemptions accepted with documentation, declinations not accepted).
  • TB Quantiferon blood test within one year prior to start.
  • Annual physical or health statement signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP stating clear to work and free of restrictions.
• Background and Compliance:

  • Background check within 30 days prior to start including criminal, sex offender, and employment verifications.
  • ARH Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Drug screen (excluding marijuana/THC) required annually.
  • Skills checklist, competency exam, and core competencies specific to the specialty and unit within one year prior to start.
  • Assignment confirmation must be uploaded within 24 hours of accepting the offer.
  • Two professional references required (one charge or higher, one supervisor reference within the last year).
  • Employee health attestation form must be completed prior to compliance deadline.
