Job Opportunity: RN (Registered Nurse) - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Roseburg, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit Type: L&D / Postpartum / Mother-Baby
- Number of L&D Beds: 9
- Number of OR Suites: 1
- Number of Triage Beds: 2
- Number of Postpartum Beds: 4
- Births per Year: Approximately 850-900
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Follow AWHONN guidelines
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- STABLE certification
- Oregon RN License required (can submit with license pending)
- 90-Day Emergency License can be requested upon offer
- Must be able to circulate and/or scrub in OR for cesarean sections
Experience & Skills
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
- Required Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard for L&D RN roles (recommend verifying with recruiter)
- Must be able to titrate drips (e.g., Pitocin, Lactated Ringer’s, Fentanyl, Labetalol)
- Experience in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and managing obstetrical emergencies such as hypertension and hemorrhage
Work Environment & Scheduling
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts (AM/PM)
- Scheduling: Yearly core schedules in place
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 1 weekend based on seniority
- Holiday Requirement: Per union contract
- Call Requirement: 2 twelve-hour call shifts every 4 weeks
- Floating: Closed unit unless emergency measures are in place
- Scrubs Provided (Color: Purple)
Additional Unit Details
- Charge Nurse and House Supervisor roles present
- OB Techs available (nurse aides/surgical techs)
- No in-house OB/Neonatologist 24/7 coverage
- Respiratory Therapy Equipment: 2 vents, 2 bubble CPAPs
- Telemetry available; RNs read strips in OB; monitor techs available upstairs for continuous monitoring
- EFM System: GE Centricity
- Unit-specific orientation provided for all new employees
