Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
- Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Must be able to float within hospital to other units as needed
- Patient Ratios:
- Active labor: 1:1
- Couplet care: 3:1
- Equipment Used: Intermediate fetal monitoring, Philips Tracevue
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech
- Patient Population: Laboring mothers and newborns
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- STABLE (Post-resuscitation/pre-transport care of sick infants)
- AWHONN certification preferred (per additional info)
Required Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Iowa
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing (highest stated requirement)
- Candidates with 1 year experience plus prior travel experience may be considered
Onboarding & Background Checks
- Must have Iowa SING background check cleared (criminal and child abuse portions required) – no exceptions
- All background checks (county and state) must be fully cleared prior to start; no instant or statewide searches accepted
- Mandatory reporter certification required (child and adult)
- Drug test: 10 panel screening including opiates
- Immunization titers must be current within last 12 months (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB)

Summary
