Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Job Details

• Specialty: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Must be able to float within hospital to other units as needed
• Patient Ratios:

  • Active labor: 1:1
  • Couplet care: 3:1
• Equipment: Intermediate fetal monitoring, Philips Tracevue
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech
• Patient Population: Laboring mothers and newborns

Required Qualifications

• License: Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • STABLE certification
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor & Delivery specialty
• Background Checks:

  • Must clear Iowa SING background check (criminal and child abuse portions)
  • All background checks (county and state) must be fully cleared prior to start (no instant or statewide searches accepted)
• Immunizations/Titers: Must have titers within last 12 months for MMR, Hep B, Varicella, and TB
• Drug Test: 10-panel screening including opiates
• Mandatory Reporter Certification: Child and Adult

• Start days allowed: Monday or Tuesday
• Prior travel experience is considered (will consider 1 year experience with travel experience) but not explicitly required
