  • Float Requirements: Yes, potential to float to other departments based on census and needs
  • Number of Beds: 15 (6 L&D, 9 Postpartum)
  • Patient Population: Adults and Newborns
  • Patient Ratios: Per AWHONN Standards
  • Equipment: Omnicell Medication Dispenser, Baxter Pumps, Masimo Monitors, GE Centricity Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR): Centricity/MEDHOST

Required Qualifications

  • License: Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) — must be obtained within 60 days of start
    • Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor & Delivery specialty
  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Skills & Experience

  • Must have experience with:
    • Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery (SVD) — no VBAC
    • Cesarean section care
    • OB triage
    • Nonstress testing
    • Postpartum and nursery care, including newborn procedures
    • Management of hemorrhages
    • Fetal monitoring and interventions
    • Management of pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, and hypertensive crisis patients
  • Common diagnoses and treatments encountered:
    • Antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum care
    • Pre-eclampsia
    • Cesarean section
    • Inductions
    • Neonatal hyperbilirubinemia

  • No prior travel experience explicitly required
  • Must be located more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as travel
