Description
Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Overview
- Children's Hospital / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- Total Staff Beds: 181
- Patient Ratio: 1 Radiation Therapist to 20 Patients
- No floating between units
- No on-call, weekends, or block schedules required
Required Qualifications
- License: Texas Radiation Therapist license in hand
- Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years (interpreted from "2Y/1ST TIMER")
- Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
- BLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
- PALS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification current from AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
- Chemotherapy certification (if required by clinical track)
- Other certifications as applicable per clinical track and facility requirements
- Background Checks:
- Comprehensive background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required annually
- Immunizations/vaccinations including TDAP, MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccine (or declination), COVID vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
- Respiratory safety clearance annually for respirator use
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format and explanation for gaps or overlaps
- Competencies: Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Skills Checklist: Required annually for applicable units
Additional Requirements
- Photo for Badge: Passport style with neutral background required prior to start
- Modules & Training:
- Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules including annual regulatory requirements and specialty-specific modules as applicable
- Epic access training modules may be required depending on region
- Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- Radiation Badge: Issued by facility (not required prior to start)
