Job Opportunity: RN Operating Room (OR)

Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Maintain a professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical exam, and diagnostic data.
  • Delegate, supervise, and evaluate activities of team members; respond to urgent or emergent situations.
  • Provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and physician’s medical plans.
  • Complete Safe Surgery checklist using service excellence standards.
  • Accurately and timely document all care information.
  • Use appropriate health and safety equipment; assist within or outside the sterile field as assigned.
  • Prepare the operating room and position patients for procedures.
  • Serve as communication liaison to family and operating team members.
  • Participate in professional growth through goal setting and educational offerings.
  • Assist in supply and equipment control and maintenance.
  • Perform circulating duties efficiently and quickly.
  • Participate in assigned call as scheduled.
  • Utilize computer programs relevant to patient care delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for South Carolina.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (AHA)
    • ACLS (AHA)
  • Experience: Minimum years of specialty experience not explicitly stated; assume standard RN OR experience expected.
  • Health Requirements:
    • Proof of MMR immunizations or titer (no declinations accepted)
    • Proof of Hepatitis B vaccinations or titer (no declinations accepted)
    • Proof of Varicella immunizations or titer (no declinations accepted)
    • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) testing within required timeframes
    • Influenza vaccine required September through April (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license or state ID
    • Social Security card
    • Criminal background check (county, statewide, national, OIG, EPLS, OFAC, NSOP, SS Trace, education verification) within 60 days of start, covering last 7 years
    • Employment verification for past 5 years
    • Drug screen (10 panel) within 30 days of start (rapid screen not accepted)
    • Skills checklist completed prior to start and updated annually
    • License verification through Nursys within 30 days of start
