Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Vero Beach, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Work Schedule:

  • 36 hours for 3x12-hour shifts or 40 hours for 8/10-hour shifts
  • Weekend requirement: 2 weekends per month
  • No on-call required
  • No block scheduling accommodation
  • Floating required within scope to 3 nearby hospitals (within 20 miles)

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
• Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (no Florida Medical Marijuana card accepted)
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved exemption required
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years of start required
• State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
• Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Pharmacology) administered during orientation for RNs
• Orientation and online training modules must be completed prior to start (high priority, no delays)

Additional Notes

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; late requests likely will not be approved
• Floating to multiple hospital locations within 20 miles is required
• Facility is smoke-free and requires nicotine-free status for all travelers
• Epic experience is mandatory and includes time-sensitive modules that must be completed promptly
• Candidates must be aware that onboarding modules can take multiple days and must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome
