Job Opportunity: RN - ICU (Travel)
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: RN ICU

- Unit: Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience preferred
- Shift Options: 36 or 48 hour contracts acceptable
- Schedule: Every other weekend required, Easter coverage required
Required Qualifications
- License: Current RN license in Florida with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Experience: Minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; CVICU experience preferred
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Required Onboarding and Compliance
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Completion of FACIS Questionnaire if any disciplinary actions exist
- Ascension-specific competencies and certifications including:
- Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score required, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (onsite)
- Ascension Nova StatStrip training
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out (clinical documentation system)
- Health and Immunization Requirements:
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted
- Fit Test: Annual respiratory fit test required
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions require mask wearing
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, annual TB questionnaire
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or vaccination, no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted
- Drug Screening: 12 panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Background Checks and Verifications:
- Criminal background check including SSN trace, OIG search, National Sex Offender Registry (updated annually)
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days prior to start
- Employment and education verifications within 90 days prior to start
- Other Requirements:
- Driver’s License/State ID (valid, must match address requirements)
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills verification) within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile) submission required
Additional Notes
- Prior CVICU experience is preferred but not mandatory
- No explicit requirement for prior travel experience
- Must be willing to work every other weekend and cover Easter
- 36 or 48 hour shifts available
