Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit Name: 11 Tower
• Number of Beds: 25
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 / 1:5
• Unit Staffing: US staff daily, PRN techs
• Equipment: Basic equipment including Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, Alaris IV Pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week period
• Floating Policy: Will float over core staff
• Patient Experience: Bedside shift report, safety checks every 1-2 hours, focus on listening and responsiveness
• Dress Code: Scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, Ceil Blue

Job Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient assessments
• Provide general care and maintenance for wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes
• Care for patients who may require dialysis or PCA pumps
• Manage Heparin drips only
• Post-op care including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, and wound vacs
• Follow unit guidelines including:

  • HAI prevention (CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions)
  • Fall prevention
  • 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
  • Attendance per policy

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) License for Tennessee
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg specialty
• COVID-19 vaccination required
