Job Opportunity: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Years of Experience Required: 2 years recent experience in specialty
  • Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-time travelers not accepted)
  • On-Call: As needed
  • Weekend Requirement: As needed
  • Scheduling: No block scheduling except possible weekend block (to be discussed during interview)
  • Locals Accepted: No (strict 100-mile radius rule)
  • Pending License: Not accepted; must be compliant with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines

Required Qualifications

  • Current, valid Tennessee RN license or multistate RN license compliant with NLC
  • Minimum 2 years recent Behavioral Health nursing experience
  • Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least one prior travel contract)
  • ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA or ARC) required
  • NIH Stroke Certification required (expires every 2 years)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start
  • Immunizations and health requirements including:
    • TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year)
    • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required for onsite candidates)
  • Background checks including statewide, county, federal, education verification, sex offender search, and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry
  • Two recent professional references required

Additional Requirements

  • Photo badge meeting strict guidelines (passport-style photo, no hats, no glasses glare, no filters, no facial piercings)
  • Compliance with facility dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, no prints or embroidered scrubs
  • Completion of facility-specific documents and questionnaires (e.g., EPIC questionnaire if applicable)
  • Competency exams and annual updates as required
  • Fit mask test (3M N-95) within 1 year of start, no facial hair interfering with mask fit
  • Must submit requested documents at time of application; no submissions to multiple job IDs simultaneously

Scheduling & Work Environment

  • Night shift with on-call and weekend as needed
  • No local candidates accepted outside 100-mile radius
  • Strict compliance with facility policies and documentation requirements

This position is ideal for experienced Behavioral Health RNs with prior travel contract experience seeking a travel assignment in Tennessee on a night shift schedule.
