Travel Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)

Location: Anderson, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Unit: Medical Surgical (4 South)
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Float Requirement: Yes, must float to other Medical Surgical units as needed
  • Block schedule: Not accommodated
  • Locals accepted: Yes
  • Pending license accepted but must be obtained prior to starting
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: Must submit all RTO with submittal

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in specialty
  • First-time travel nurses accepted
  • Prior travel experience: Not required

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Current Registered Nurse license for South Carolina (must be active prior to start)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as required
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred but not required for ER

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
  • Background check: 7-year criminal check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Transcript or diploma required for Medical Surgical RNs (needed for point-of-care testing)
  • Primary source verification of state nursing license
  • Color blindness test (Ishihara) required
  • Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
  • Immunizations or titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Drug screening: 9-panel within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • Annual fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 1)
  • Photo for badge (clear headshot, no visible nose piercing)
  • Completion of facility online orientation and acknowledgment
  • Stroke education and acknowledgment required if working at facility for 1 year or longer
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Employment application/resume

Additional Notes

  • Must be willing to float to other Medical Surgical units as needed
  • Weekend work every other weekend is required
  • Pending licenses accepted but must be active before starting assignment
  • Locals are welcome to apply

This position offers a structured travel nursing opportunity in a Medical Surgical unit with a 13-week contract in South Carolina. The role requires a minimum of 2 years RN experience, current licensure, and standard certifications including BLS. Prior travel experience is not mandatory.
