Job Description

• Perform Nuclear Medicine Procedures in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Shift: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (0630-1700 or 0815-1845).
• On-call required after department closes until it reopens, approximately 7 on-call days per month; on-call shifts are generally not busy.
• Operate state-of-the-art Nuclear Medicine gamma cameras, probes, computer systems, film processors, survey meters, and other technical devices.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
• Licensure:

  • Must be registered in Nuclear Medicine with either the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 6 months of hire.
  • Pending Nuclear Medicine license with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) allowed.
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire.
  • Must pass a Basic Cardiac Monitoring class within 4 months of hire.

Additional Requirements

• Criminal background check within 90 days of start (7-year search).
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and ongoing every 30 days.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Drug testing (10-panel) within 90 days of start.
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or facility-specific declination.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella antibody titers or vaccinations with boosters or declinations as needed.
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required year-round.
• Fit mask testing to be completed onsite within the first week of starting.

Competencies and Training

• Must complete required HealthStream modules by due date.
• Competency exams with passing scores required (e.g., 80% for general competency, 85% for Dysrhythmia/EKG interpretation if applicable).
• Core clinical competencies must be completed and updated annually.

References and Work History

• Two references within the last 2 years showing at least 1 year in a comparable specialty.
• At least one reference must be supervisory within the last 12 months.
