Description
Job Opportunity: RN - Surgery (Travel)
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on assigned units. Ensures quality care is provided efficiently and safely, consistent with unit standards. Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and effective communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: Days, 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM
- Weekend requirement: Yes (details discussed during interview)
- On-call requirement: Yes (details discussed during interview)
- Floating: May float to other departments as needed
Required Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
Licenses & Certifications
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
- BLS Certification from AHA required
- ACLS Certification from AHA required
- Must maintain certifications without grace period for renewal
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an RN in the specialty (Surgery)
- Robotic & Neuro experience required
Skills & Abilities
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served
- Sensitive to patients’ rights in care delivery
- Clear and concise communication appropriate to patient developmental age
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
- Clean, well-lighted, ventilated, smoke-free environment
- Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations
- Prolonged standing and walking; heavy physical effort to position, push, or transfer patients or equipment
- Requires reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
- Normal or correctable hearing and vision; manual dexterity and fine motor coordination
