Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Travel Position
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Facility Type: Level 1 Trauma Center
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Specialty and Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
- Required Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard ICU RN experience expected (typically 1-2 years minimum)
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Current RN license valid in Kansas (Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and valid)
Required Certifications and Exams
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out (competency exam)
- Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
- Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- CPI/MOAB High Risk Online Portion (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or MOAB De-Escalation Course)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical competency, updated annually)
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement
- Positive PPD or IGRA with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine; no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Valid within last 10 years; no declinations accepted
- Fit Test: Required annually; preferred prior to start
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
- Ascension Nova StatStrip (pre-hire modules for non-allied positions)
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Employment and Education Verification (within 90 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (agency letterhead documentation)
- Ascension Badge Photo (professional headshot with white or blue background)
