Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technologist - OR/ Weekends/On Call

Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist functions as the scrub person in the operating room, working under the supervision of the surgeon and RN. The role ensures a safe OR environment, proper equipment function, and that surgical procedures maximize patient safety. Expertise in surgical techniques, human anatomy, surgical procedures, and use of surgical tools and technologies is required to facilitate safe patient care during invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military surgical technologist program
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare case carts according to preference cards and interpret these cards for instrument and supply procurement
  • Communicate effectively with OR staff and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation for scheduled and unscheduled cases
  • Review daily surgical schedule with charge nurse and sterile processing coordinator to identify potential delays or scheduling issues
  • Manage core communications, delegate duties, and coordinate breaks and lunches
  • Serve as a resource for sterile processing and surgical services departments regarding supply and instrumentation needs
  • Coordinate with materials management on supply utilization and deployment

Additional Information

  • Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
  • Candidates must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
