Job Description
- Staff Development Coordinator RN role in a Long-Term Care (LTC) setting.
- Responsibilities include:
- Orienting new employees to the facility.
- Providing or scheduling educational in-services for nurses and nursing staff.
- Organizing an annual skills day for nurses and nursing assistants.
- Ensuring all nurses and nursing assistants have up-to-date licenses and certifications.
- Completing and mailing nursing assistant renewal forms.
- Monitoring and investigating incidents and medication errors.
- Monitoring infections within the facility.
- Available to provide direct patient care as needed 24/7.
- Assuming on-call nurse responsibilities per policy.
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum experience typical for LTC RN roles.
- Licensure: Valid RN license in North Carolina with primary source verification.
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required prior to start and must be current.

- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – As required.
- NURSYS verification required for all RNs.

- Performance evaluations if previously employed with the system.
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.

- Must be available for on-call nursing duties.

- Must maintain all required certifications and licenses current throughout the assignment.
