Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

• Level III Trauma Center with cases including Trauma Levels I, II, and III
• 24-bed Surgical Inpatient Unit (3rd floor)
• Patient population: Adults aged 18 to 100+
• Patient ratio: 1:6 max, with frequent admits and discharges
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner
• Equipment: IV pumps, vital signs monitors
• Float opportunities to Medical/Nephrology/Inpatient Rehab, Cardiology (lower acuity), and Pediatrics (adult patients only)
• Shift: Days, 36 hours/week guaranteed
• Weekend requirement: At least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule
• No call requirements

Role & Responsibilities

• Position: RN / Charge Nurse
• Specialty focus: Orthopedic and Neurosurgery, with additional coverage in Medical and Nephrology as needed
• Provide post-operative care for ortho, neuro, and abdominal surgeries
• Manage patients with NG tubes, chest tubes, Foley catheters, TURPs
• Care for patients with respiratory issues, diabetes, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, rib fractures, altered mental status, and pain management
• Deliver excellent customer service and patient experience

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg specialty (including ortho/neuro post-op care)
• BLS certification
• Must have at least a 3.2 overall rating on skills checklist
• Ability to follow all facility policies and guidelines
