Job Opportunity: RN - MedSurg/PCU Nights

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting.
• Experienced in MedSurg and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) areas; flexibility to work across departments as needed.
• Identify patient and family education needs and deliver education using appropriate methods.
• Ensure patient safety through preventative measures (e.g., side rails, restraints, safe equipment use) and follow restraint policies correctly.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation and troubleshooting of equipment in PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas.
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures with proper documentation.
• Utilize standard precautions at all times.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during shifts.
• Accurately document charge and complete physician orders timely, including 24-hour order checks if assigned.
• Provide thorough change-of-shift reports to incoming staff.
• Communicate effectively with other departments and report critical lab values to physicians promptly.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, rooms, and general supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Active Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in MedSurg and PCU nursing.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum specialty experience: 0+ years explicitly stated, but implied experienced in all areas of MedSurg/PCU. (No explicit years given; assume at least some prior MedSurg/PCU experience required.)
• No prior travel experience required.
