Job Opportunity: OR Tech / Surgical Tech
Location: Fullerton, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position in the Main Operating Room (OR Tech Main OR 3211.742100.27449)
- Call required: 9 PM - 11 PM on weekdays, approximately 1-2 call shifts per week
- Must be open to working weekends; likely to exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs
- May be asked to float to Plaza Surgery Center as needed
- Robotics surgery skills required (hard stop)
- Local radius: 50 miles
- Start date: ASAP
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Acute Care Surgical Tech experience (highest required years of experience)
- First-timers accepted
- BLS certification required
- On-call required
- Pending licenses not accepted
- Must include Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at time of submission
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification only
- Robotics surgery skills certification/experience required
- Other certifications may be required based on clinical track but not specified here

Scheduling & Work Conditions

Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification required
- Drug screen: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator fit testing required annually for travel candidates
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
Additional Requirements
- Must complete Providence Health and Services system and specialty-specific WorkRamp training modules prior to start (annual renewal required)
- Float policy acknowledgment required (may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)
- Epic access training modules required for some regions (not specified for this location)
