Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Roswell, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details

- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience.
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not required.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- I9 Verification
- E-Verify compliance
- 7-year Background Check (including SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Education Verification)
- Fingerprinting (must be completed onsite during orientation for New Mexico placements)
- Education Verification (highest level of education must be verified)
- Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
Competencies & Training
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
- Color Blind Testing (online)
- Competency Exams as applicable (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
- Annual Core Testing (for subcontractors)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)
Additional Notes
- Behavioral Health RNs must have APNA eLearning Center certification for conducting face-to-face assessments in restraint or seclusion prior to start.
- Fingerprints must be redone for every new contract.
- Travelers can attend orientation and EPIC training pending fingerprint clearance but cannot work on the unit until clearance is received.
- Flu and COVID-19 exemptions require facility review and approval.
- References are not required to clear candidates but internal requirements include professional references for travel and allied positions.
- Complete application and resume required.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually.
- 7-year work history verification required.
This position offers an opportunity to work in an operating room setting with day shifts and requires flexibility for call during nights and weekends. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. Compliance with extensive documentation, immunizations, and competency requirements is essential.
