Location: Tyler, Texas

Job Details

- Shift: Days, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Patient Ratios: 1:2
- Float Requirements: ICU, IMC, Tele as needed
- Number of Beds: 16
- Number of Rooms: 14
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Years of Specialty Experience: 2 years
- Prior Travel Experience: Required
- Charting System: Epic (experience required)
Certifications Required / Preferred
- Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Preferred / As Applicable:
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy Certification)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Competencies and Testing
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
- Competency Exams as applicable (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
- Annual Core Testing for Substitutes
Health and Background Requirements
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
- Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB Questionnaire (if applicable)
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
Background Checks and Documentation
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Education verification (highest level) required
- Work history verification for 7 years
- State license verification (primary source) and NURSYS verification for RN
- Photo for badge required
Additional Notes
- Must not reside in certain Texas counties (list available upon request)
- Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
- Fingerprinting required for New Mexico placements only (not applicable here)
This position is ideal for experienced Trauma ICU RNs with prior travel experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced Level I Trauma environment using Epic charting.
