Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Amarillo, Texas

Unit Details
- Patient Population: Mixed Med/Surg and Intermediate Care patients
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 to 1:6 depending on shift assignment
- Shift Options: 36 or 48 hour shifts, Days
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years preferred
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- Epic Experience: Required
Travel Radius
- No local candidates accepted
- Must be willing to travel within a 50-mile radius
Required Certifications (as applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Required Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
- Competency Exam (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
- Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors, annual completion required)
Licensure and Verification
- State License Primary Source Online Verification required
- NURSYS Verification required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
- Education Verification (highest level of education)
Background and Health Requirements
- 7-year Background Check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Fingerprinting (time sensitive for certain states)
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Adult TDAP Vaccine within 10 years of start
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start
- TB Questionnaire for positive TB results, renewed annually
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, etc.)
- Onsite additional drug screen during orientation (only one attempt allowed)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
