Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT)

Location: Athens, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
  • 1st time travelers accepted
  • Prior travel experience: Not required

Patient Population

  • Pediatrics to Geriatrics

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
  • Georgia State License

Skills and Work Setting Requirements

  • Ventilator management
  • Medicated aerosol treatments
  • Bipap management
  • Open Heart care
  • Intubation
  • ABG (Arterial Blood Gas) draws and analysis
  • CPT (Chest Physiotherapy)
  • Nitric Oxide therapy
  • COVID management

Work Environment

  • 24/7 department coverage
  • Day shift: 11-13 therapists
  • Night shift: 9-10 therapists
  • Coverage includes all hospital floors, 30-bed ICU, 25-bed Open Heart unit, 25-bed NICU, and 45-bed Emergency Department
  • Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • Every other weekend off
  • No call requirements
  • Holiday work expectations:
    • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
    • If 2 major holidays fall, expected to work both
    • If 3 major holidays fall, expected to work 2 of them
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day

Systems Experience Required

  • Epic
  • Puritan Bennett
  • Servo I
  • GE Care Fusion

Orientation and Compliance

  • Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days
  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours)

Dress Code

  • Scrubs of any color except all red or all navy blue

Required Documentation and Health Requirements

  • Background check (completed within 30 days of start)
  • Education verification (degree related to specialty)
  • State license verification (Georgia)
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • TB questionnaire updated annually
  • Immunizations or titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Flu vaccination or declination required (seasonal)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable under certain conditions)
  • Skills checklist updated within 12 months
  • Work history verification of most recent employer
  • Two clinical references required

Competency Exams (Aya Required)

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (RNs and LVNs only)
  • Color Blind Testing (all candidates)
  • Competency Exam (Nursing and Allied Health)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for Telemetry, ICU, ER, and related units)

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
