Location: Dayton, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Critical Care Registered Nurses provide care for patients with severe medical issues such as heart attack, stroke, shock, severe trauma, and respiratory distress. Responsibilities include:

• Assessing patient conditions and implementing care plans
• Treating wounds and providing advanced life support
• Assisting physicians with procedures
• Monitoring and recording vital signs
• Managing ventilators, monitors, and other medical equipment (including adjusting ventilator/IABP)
• Administering IV fluids and medications
• Suctioning
• Collaborating with the critical care team
• Responding to life-saving situations using nursing standards and protocols
• Acting as patient advocate
• Educating and supporting patient families
• Caring for pre- and post-operative patients
• Potentially serving as case managers, policy makers, or performing administrative duties

The ICU unit has 10 beds and includes a mix of ICU and medical-surgical patients. Floating to the LTAC unit may be required depending on census.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year recent experience in LTACH, trach & vent, and wound care
• ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Ohio RN or multi-state RN license

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Candidate must be able to float to LTAC unit as needed
• Experience with critical care nursing in ICU settings is essential
