Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience for a travel/contract position. The role requires open heart surgery experience and the ability to scrub during procedures.


Schedule

  • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (06:00 - 16:30) with alternating days off
  • 1-2 call days per week with a 30-minute response time
  • Weekend coverage every 3rd or 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 6:00 AM)
  • Holiday shifts as needed (at least 1 major holiday expected)
  • Floating as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse - CVOR
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years CVOR experience
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
    • EPIC experience required
  • Open heart surgery experience required
  • Scrub experience required
  • Ability to respond to on-call within 30 minutes

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to care for COVID-19 patients
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility environment

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check (including PA PATCH search)
  • PA FBI fingerprinting within 1 year of start (results must be on file within 45 days)
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search within 5 years (results must be on file within 45 days)
  • Employment application and recent resume
  • 2 professional references within 3 years
  • Skills checklist (annual)
  • Performance evaluations completed onsite during assignment
  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot within 90 days)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Vaccines or positive titers required with boosters as applicable
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series required
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or valid medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
    • COVID-19 vaccine or valid exemption/declination
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
  • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
  • Photo for badge (professional, passport-style)
  • Completion of facility-specific documents including code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, and health & wellness commitments
  • Completion of required Learning Management System (LMS) modules and new hire orientation

Onboarding and Orientation

  • Clinical screening and manager interview required prior to placement
  • New hire orientation must be completed by the end of the first day
  • LMS modules must be completed prior to start date on a PC or laptop (not mobile devices)

Notes

  • Maximum return-to-office (RTO) time is 7 days
  • Candidate must be prepared for floating as needed
  • Facility enforces a tobacco and fragrance-free policy

This position is ideal for experienced CVOR RNs comfortable with open heart procedures, call responsibilities, and working in a fast-paced surgical environment.
