Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Toledo, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work Hours: May work 0630-1700 OR 0730-1800
- Call Requirement: One weekday per week and every fifth weekend
- Patient Age Group: Adults and Geriatrics
- Average Daily Census: 25-30 patients
- Number of Rooms: 7
- Work Settings: Outpatient and Inpatient
- EMR System: Epic
- Scrubs Provided
- No local candidates accepted within 50 miles
Job Responsibilities & Skills
- Cath Lab/IR cases primarily; may float to EP if Cath Lab/IR cases are low (EP experience preferred)
- General Skills: IV Starts, EKGs
- IR/Angio/Special Procedures: Stents, Angioplasty, Angiograms, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis
- Must be STEMI ready
- IABP and Impella training required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a STEMI/PCI facility (minimum experience required: 2 years)
- Must have ARRT certification in hand at time of application
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ARRT
- Ohio Department of Health (ODH) License required for Radiology/Cardiology discipline
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Check: 7-year history within 12 months of start, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, and international (if applicable)
- Fingerprinting: Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprint results required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually
- Education Verification: Highest level verified; international candidates may submit diploma and license verification if third-party verification unavailable
- Physical Exam: Physician statement within last 12 months (latex-free PPE available)
- Fit Mask: N95 fit test required within 12 months of start and updated annually (onsite exceptions possible)
- Immunizations & Health:
- Tdap within 10 years or TD if proof of prior Tdap
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 3 months of start, updated annually
- MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) - positive titer, 2 vaccines, or approved exemption
- Hepatitis B series, positive titer, or declination
- Varicella - positive titer, 2 vaccines, or approved exemption
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable unless on prescription)
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years of start; at least 1 from a leader (Charge RN or above)
- Skills Checklist: Required for all candidates
Additional Notes
- Radiation badges issued by facility as applicable
- Must comply with facility dress code
- Medication and competency exams may be required as applicable
- Must meet or exceed required competency exam scores (e.g., Dysrhythmia/EKG competency for RNs if applicable)
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with STEMI/PCI experience looking for a travel contract in Ohio.
