Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist

Location: South Portland, Maine
Specialty: Home Health - Aroostook County
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)

Job Description

• Provide physical therapy services primarily to adult patients, with occasional school-aged children.
• Common patient diagnoses include post-orthopedic surgeries, post-surgical recovery, fall risks, deconditioning, and mobility issues.
• Patient load is approximately 20-25 patients per therapist.
• Coverage area includes Aroostook County, with travel distances between 50-100 miles per day.
• Orientation period of 1-2 weeks provided.
• Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of 4 ten-hour shifts.
• Weekend rotation required approximately 1 weekend every 4-6 weeks (Saturday and Sunday).
• No on-call duties.
• Holiday coverage includes about 50% of major and minor holidays.
• Scheduling time off requires manager approval.
• Dress code: Business casual or solid-colored scrubs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist; Home Health experience preferred but other PT experience considered.
• BLS certification.
• Valid Maine state Physical Therapist license.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical Therapy.
• Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance.
• Experience with patient types listed above.

• Electronic Medical Record system used: Netsmart.

Additional Notes

• First-time travel therapists are welcome to apply if they have the right experience.
• Must be able to travel extensively within the county as part of the job.
