Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Med/Surg; Neuro Acute Care
- Shift: 1845 - 0715
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 (can be cancelled up to 3 times per contract)
- Weekend Hours: Every 3rd weekend rotation
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: May float to other units in the acute care division, including facilities within a 25-mile radius
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 24
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Equipment: General hospital equipment for an acute care unit
- EMR System: Cerner
- Type of Patients: General Medicine
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alabama
- Med Surg experience (minimum 2 years)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- TR band management
Work Environment & Culture
- Professional, adaptable, hardworking, patient-centered
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs; fingernails must comply with TJC and CMS guidelines; shoes must be close-toed with backs
Additional Notes
- This is a travel assignment in an acute care setting with a focus on neuro and med/surg patients.
- The unit is recognized for excellence in stroke care and uses Cerner EMR.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
