Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Gastroenterology / Endoscopy Lab

Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois
• Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certification required

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following nursing techniques, policies, standards of care, and state laws
• Perform patient assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care
• Document care according to standards
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians or clinic policy, including patient and family education
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments to support patient care continuity
• Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating issues appropriately
• Engage in professional nursing activities such as peer review, mentoring, and precepting new staff
• Contribute ideas and solutions to practice issues and participate in evidence-based practice development
• Support continuous learning and professional development opportunities
