    Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech

    Location: Eureka, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Summary

    Seeking a Mammography Tech with specialty in Radiology / Cardiology for an acute care hospital setting. The position requires working onsite with no floating between units and no on-call duties. The schedule may accommodate a block schedule (Saturday through Monday).


    Required Qualifications

    • Licenses & Certifications:
      • California State License for Radiologic Technologist (RT)
      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
      • ARRT Advanced certification
    • Experience:

    Required Compliance & Documentation

    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Drug screening: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Immunizations and health requirements:
      • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
      • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required for travel candidates, updated annually
    • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years

    Training & Competency Requirements

    • Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp modules, including:
      • Annual regulatory requirements
      • Specialty-specific modules for Radiology / Mammography Tech
      • Regional and facility-specific modules as assigned
    • Competency exams as applicable by profession
    • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam if applicable
    • Color blind testing if required by unit
    • Epic system training modules completion required

    Additional Notes

    • No floating between units required
    • Facility provides scrub colors for Radiology staff (dark solid colors)
    • Badge photo required for badge issuance
    • Free parking on first day, with assigned parking after orientation
