Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Position: Cath Lab Tech Preceptor (strictly a precepting role)
• Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• No call, no weekends
• Work environment: Cardio-endovascular catheterization laboratory
• Responsibilities include monitoring and scrubbing during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, assisting physicians, radiologic technologists, cardiovascular technologists, and nurses to ensure efficiency and a customer-friendly environment

Required Qualifications

• Current ARRT credential
• Current Oregon Medical Board of Imaging (OMBI) license prior to start
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA traditional provider only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA traditional provider only
• Cardiac and Interventional Radiology (IR) experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cath Lab Tech

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS and ACLS must be AHA traditional provider certifications (no RQI or instructor certificates accepted)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) is noted but not explicitly required for this position
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required annually with a passing grade of 85% or higher
• General Competency Exam: Required annually with a passing grade of 85% or higher

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year prior to start, confirming good physical and mental health and ability to perform job duties
• Fit testing for respiratory protection completed onsite on the first day; must be updated annually
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years prior to start (declinations accepted with signed facility form)
• Negative TB test (Qgold or TSPOT) within 1 year prior to start; PPDs not accepted; annual TB questionnaire required for past positives
• Immunity or vaccination documentation required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (immune titer and 3 vaccines preferred, or signed declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: 10-panel including methamphetamines within 30 days prior to start; laboratory-based through SAMHSA certified lab
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season; mask policy applies if declined

Background & Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required 30 days prior to start and updated monthly
• Education verification required for all clinical roles
• International background check if residency outside the US in past 10 years
• At least 2 professional employment references required
• Skills checklist required

• Candidates must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date
