Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry (Nights)
Location: Lima, Ohio
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Responsible and accountable for patient care during assigned shifts.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria.
- Make clinical judgments based on scientific knowledge and skills.
- Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff (LPN/PCT, Unit Secretaries).
- Must float to all units within skill level and scope of practice. Refusal to float may result in being sent home without pay for the week.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience.
- Specialty Experience:
- Post-operative open heart care (required)
- Chest tube and other drain management (required)
- Pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access (required)
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading/interpreting cardiac rhythm strips and responding to changes (required)
- Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities (required)
- Experience with assisting chest tube removal, removal of pericardial pacing wires, management of temporary pacers (pericardial and transcutaneous), use and troubleshooting of non-invasive ventilation (NIV) devices, high-flow oxygen, and other oxygen delivery systems (required)
- Preferred Experience: Critical Care experience (highly preferred)
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Active Ohio RN license (or Compact RN license)
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
- Skills:
- Skills checklist current to within 1 year, pertinent to Telemetry specialty

- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4/5:1
- Dress code: Navy Blue
- Electronic Medical Record system: MediTech
- Nonbillable hours: 8 hours per week
- OT/Holiday/Call back pay at 1.25x regular rates
