Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Acute Rehabilitation
Number of Beds: 10
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
Common Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord Injury, Spinal Surgery, Amputees
Therapies Available: Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Neuropsychology
Respiratory/Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, transfer equipment, tracheostomies, nasal cannula, PEG and Mickey button, NG tubes

Schedule & Work Environment

Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM (Night Shift)
Weekend Requirements: Rotating weekends (approximately 4 weekend days per month)
Holiday Requirements: Yes
Call or Standby: No
Floating: Possible assignment to acute floor if overstaffed
Self-Scheduling: Not allowed, but employees may submit scheduling requests
Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
Orientation: Unit/Department specific orientation provided

Required Qualifications

License: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
Experience: Minimum 1 year of bedside nursing experience in an acute inpatient rehab setting
Skills:
- Ability to attend team conferences on day shift
- Experience working with stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, and amputee patients
- Familiarity with respiratory equipment and feeding tubes used in rehab patients

Additional Notes

No telemetry or monitor techs on unit; RNs do not read cardiac strips
Charge nurse takes patient assignments
Nurse aides intermittently available at a ratio of 1 aide per 8-10 patients
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
