Job Opportunity: MRI Technologist (Traveler - Backfill)

Location: Chester, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

The MRI Technologist is responsible for patient safety and performing high-quality MR studies. This role involves effective communication with radiologists and customers, training new technologists or Patient Coordinators, and troubleshooting MRI equipment to ensure smooth operations and prevent delays in patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate imaging and related equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, including advanced studies.
• Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and address concerns with tact and courtesy.
• Ensure patient safety through pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection techniques.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists and customers.
• Train new technologists and Patient Coordinators, providing guidance and quality checks.
• Troubleshoot MRI scanners and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, coils) to maintain effective operations.
• Escalate complex issues to supervisors and support teams as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• ARRT (MR) certification required.
• BLS CPR Certification through the American Heart Association required.
• Valid state driver’s license as applicable.
• Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience in high-volume environments preferred (higher value taken from 1-2 years range).
• Proficiency in running advanced MR studies independently.
• Ability to work in a self-directed environment.
• Strong patient care skills with the ability to explain complex medical terms in an understandable way.
• Experience managing customer interactions and resolving problems independently.
• Local travel may be required.

Additional Information

• Experience with GE Signa 23X equipment is preferred.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
