Description
Job Opportunity: Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech) - Travel Position
Location: Reno, Nevada
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, including operation of imaging equipment and execution of physician orders.
- Provide optimal patient care across neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Responsible for patient safety, image quality, and proper exam preparation.
- May assist other modalities within the department or health system.
- Required to demonstrate competency in OR Suite, Trauma Suite, and portable radiography within 90 days.
- May be required to float to other locations and work holidays, weekends, and some call shifts.
Schedule
- Tuesday to Friday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Some call may be required.
- Schedule subject to change based on department needs.
Required Qualifications
- License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required.
- State License: Nevada Medical Radiography license required.
- Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist.
- Fluoroscopy: Must be proficient in fluoroscopy.
Additional Information
- Work environment is extremely busy and fast-paced, serving a large regional area.
- Facility is a Level 2 trauma center with stroke accreditation, 800 inpatient beds, and 80 ER beds.
- The volume and pace are comparable to a Level 1 trauma center.
- May be required to work major holidays and pick up additional shifts.
- Floating to other locations within the organization may be required based on competency.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce optimal diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients of all ages.
- Operate imaging equipment and ensure safety during procedures.
- Manage patient flow and consult with radiologists regarding contrast media and image quality.
- Perform billing, supply stocking, file maintenance, medical charting, and informed consent documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement studies and patient history acquisition.
