Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Cath Lab
Location: Snellville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year (1st time travelers accepted)
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Patient Population
- Adults to Geriatrics
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Clinical Skills & Work Setting
- Circulate procedures
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
Unit Details
- Ratio/Census: 3 rooms with 5 beds each; average daily census 8-10
- Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub color: Provided by facility
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Weekends: Every third weekend
- Floating: Possible float to sister campus
- Call Requirements: 10 call days per month
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours)
- Clinical screen required to determine clinical fit before final manager approval
Required Documentation & Health Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start, including education verification
- State license verification (Georgia) within 30 days prior to start
- Annual Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with specific requirements if prior positive)
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Immunizations:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
Competency Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (required by agency)
- Color blind testing (required for all candidates)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU) with up to 3 attempts allowed
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Candidate must review and sign facility Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
- References: 2 clinical references required by agency
- Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
- Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending at start with proof it is in process)
