Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Largo, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, Mids (1:00 PM - 11:30 PM) with possible flexibility to start earlier
Weekend/On-call:

  • Weekend shifts: 1 weekend per month possible, inclusive of on-call
  • On-call: 10-15 shifts per contract required; weekday on-call from end of shift to 6:30 AM next day, weekend on-call is 24 hours
  • Floating within specialty and general OR as needed

Job Description

  • CVOR RN position working mids with weekend and on-call requirements
  • Circulating and scrub experience is a hard requirement
  • Experience across multiple OR service lines including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and General Surgery preferred
  • Candidates with 3 to 5 years of experience preferred; first-time travelers with strong recent circulating and scrub experience and general OR experience may be considered
  • Must be able to scrub and circulate effectively in a surgical/sterile environment
  • Surgical/sterile scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
  • 3 to 5 years of OR nursing experience required (higher end of range applies)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
  • Strong circulating and scrub experience required (no exceptions)

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work holidays as scheduled
  • Must be willing to float within the specialty and general OR as needed
  • Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • I-9 or Attestation
  • Government Issued Photo ID
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
  • Drug screening (9-panel, negative result required within 30 days prior to start)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working with children)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccination/declination as applicable)
  • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for the 2025-26 season
  • COVID vaccination not required for this location, but documentation or declination for tracking is requested
  • Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
  • Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
  • Verification of previous 5 years of employment history
