Description
Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Largo, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, Mids (1:00 PM - 11:30 PM) with possible flexibility to start earlier
Weekend/On-call:
- Weekend shifts: 1 weekend per month possible, inclusive of on-call
- On-call: 10-15 shifts per contract required; weekday on-call from end of shift to 6:30 AM next day, weekend on-call is 24 hours
- Floating within specialty and general OR as needed
Job Description
- CVOR RN position working mids with weekend and on-call requirements
- Circulating and scrub experience is a hard requirement
- Experience across multiple OR service lines including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and General Surgery preferred
- Candidates with 3 to 5 years of experience preferred; first-time travelers with strong recent circulating and scrub experience and general OR experience may be considered
- Must be able to scrub and circulate effectively in a surgical/sterile environment
- Surgical/sterile scrubs provided
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- 3 to 5 years of OR nursing experience required (higher end of range applies)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Strong circulating and scrub experience required (no exceptions)
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work holidays as scheduled
- Must be willing to float within the specialty and general OR as needed
- Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- I-9 or Attestation
- Government Issued Photo ID
- Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
- Drug screening (9-panel, negative result required within 30 days prior to start)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working with children)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccination/declination as applicable)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for the 2025-26 season
- COVID vaccination not required for this location, but documentation or declination for tracking is requested
- Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
- Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
- Verification of previous 5 years of employment history
Summary
This is a travel contract RN position in the CVOR requiring strong circulating and scrub skills with 3-5 years of OR experience preferred.
