Job Opportunity: Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Must have Neuroscience ICU background with strong experience in:
    • External Ventricular Drain (EVD)
    • Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitoring
    • Angiogram post care
    • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
    • Carotid procedures
    • Embolization procedures
  • Schedule: Nights, 3 or 4 shifts of 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15)
  • Flexibility to rotate day/night shifts is a plus
  • One hardship shift may be required depending on assignment timeframe
  • May be asked to float to other ICUs if needed
  • Unit Info: 10-bed Neurosurgical ICU caring for critically ill stroke patients and neurosurgery/neuro-endovascular surgery patients 18+ years old
  • Care includes ICP monitoring, post IV/IA tPA administration, mechanical thrombectomy, AVM repair, aneurysm repair, carotid stenting, craniotomy, CRRT, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring
  • May care for COVID patients
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years Neuro ICU experience
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • EPIC experience required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Pennsylvania

Additional Requirements

  • Maximum Return to Office (RTO): 7 days
  • Weekends: Every other weekend (EOW)
  • Call: Not required
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal background, fingerprinting, Child Abuse clearance, and others as per Pennsylvania state and facility requirements
  • Health documents including physical exam, immunizations (TDAP, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella), negative TB test, flu vaccine, COVID-19 vaccine or exemption, drug testing (for agency only)
  • Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency
  • Professional references (2 within last 3 years)
  • Skills checklist and performance evaluations as required
  • Facility-specific documents such as photo for badge, confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, and health & wellness commitments

Notes

  • Candidate will undergo clinical screening and manager interview
  • Must comply with all facility-specific onboarding and credentialing processes
  • Facility requires all health documentation to include two identifying markers (e.g., full name, DOB, SSN)
  • Fingerprinting results must be on file within 45 days of assignment start or candidate will be removed from the floor
  • Flu vaccine or valid exemption required annually during flu season
  • Facility is fragrance and tobacco free; candidates should be aware before submission
