Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - OB Specialty

Location: Soldotna, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Manage individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing.
Follow departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice.
Utilize equipment including Meditech, OBIX, Pyxis Supply Stations, and bedside fetal monitor.
Work 12-hour shifts.
Unit includes 4 LDRP rooms and 5 Nursery/Postpartum rooms.
Nurse-to-patient ratio follows national standards based on labor type and patient needs.
Dress code: Scrubs provided.
Complete Meditech and OBIX training (3 days) plus unit-specific orientation.
Medication testing required within first two weeks on site.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years recent LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience.
Active Alaska RN license.
Current BLS (AHA), NRP, and STABLE certifications.
Experience with fetal monitoring and AED.
Experience with EPIC charting system.

Additional Notes

No floating to other units/departments.
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Cons

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
