Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Eureka, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
- Total Staffed Beds: 150
- Charting System: Epic
- Scrub Color: Radiology - Black
- Floating: Yes, may need to float between like units
- Block Scheduling: Possible, per manager discretion
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License Accepted: No
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Radiation Therapist)
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year required
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification only
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) - T (Therapy) certification
- License: Valid California Radiation Therapist license (CPDH Certificate required)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
Additional Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Must have a background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Nationwide and National Sex Offender checks, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable), and others as required
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit Mask test (N95 or equivalent) required annually for travel candidates
- Immunizations and screenings including:
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates
Training and Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (if required by unit)
- Competency Exams as applicable by specialty
- Radiation Badge issued by facility (not required prior to start)
Facility-Specific Compliance and Training
- Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp modules prior to start and annually thereafter, including:
- Core Regulatory Modules
- Specialty-Specific Modules for Radiology/Radiation Therapy
- Regional and Facility-Specific Modules as assigned
- Epic system training modules completion required after Providence access is granted
- Float Policy Acknowledgement (may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)

- Locals are accepted for this travel contract.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
- Floating between like units is required.
- Block scheduling accommodations are at manager discretion.
