Job Opportunity: Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) – Cath Lab (Days)

Location: Coos Bay, Oregon

Job Description

• Provide nursing care within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
• Apply the nursing process to patient care and teach patients and their significant others.
• Document patient care in medical records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate overall patient care.
• Conduct specialized examinations in cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular studies, and/or electrophysiology studies.
• Serve as a lead worker and resource to medical and clinical staff to maximize team capabilities.
• Collaborate with intra-procedure teams to ensure safe patient care.
• Participate in Universal Protocol and site marking identification when applicable.
• Assist with patient identification, preparation, draping, and room setup for routine procedures.
• Read and interpret physicians’ orders/protocols; communicate with physicians as needed.
• Select, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot special procedures equipment to ensure quality care.
• Train technologists on operation of special procedures equipment as needed.
• Identify and recommend improvements to work processes and customer satisfaction.
• Stay current with developments in cardiovascular technology through seminars, journals, and professional organizations.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines impacting cardiovascular technology and cardiac labs.
• Develop and revise procedures to ensure compliance with state/federal laws and accreditation requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cath Lab/Cardiovascular specialty
• Experience: Acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years (required)
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS (required)
• Licensure: Valid Oregon RN license or willingness to obtain one (license does not need to be active at time of submission)
• Documentation: Resume and skills checklist specific to RN discipline (required)
