Description
Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Patient Population: All ages (neonates to geriatrics)
- Work Areas: Inpatient covering all areas/floors
- Shift: 7am to 7pm (12-hour shifts), team scheduling
- Weekend Requirements: Days every third weekend, nights every other weekend
- Holiday Requirements: Rotate with permanent staff
- Floating: Required to float to different areas throughout the hospital in RT capacity
- Orientation: 3 shifts of 12 hours each
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience with EKGs, bedside bronchoscopies, and bedside spirometry
- Ability to work collaboratively with RTs, providers, and nursing staff
- Strong time management, flexibility, adaptability, communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn
Equipment Experience
- Ventilators: Drager, Servo I, Carefusion (Heliox and NICU use only)
- Bipap: Vision, V60, V30, Respironics S/T
- High Flow: Airvo2
Staffing & Support
- Hospitalist or Intensivist available 24/7
- Lead Respiratory Therapist on each shift
- Traveler will not be the only RT in-house
Required Qualifications
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC required
- BLS and ACLS (AHA) required
- RRT or CRT required (NRP & PALS preferred)
- Valid driver’s license required at submittal
- Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care areas
Additional Notes
- Radius rule: Candidate must live within 50 miles and cannot be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
- Return to Office (RTO) needed upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract); no additional RTO approved
