Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Albany, Georgia

Job Description
- Position available for an RRT to work in ICU and ER settings at a large hospital.
- Responsibilities include all respiratory therapy duties such as nebulizers, airway management, vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, ventilators, ABG collection, bedside PFTs, CPT, placing arterial lines, managing blood gases, intubation, and bronchoscopies.
- Therapists will be the first line for intubating patients; must be comfortable and experienced with intubation.
- High and heavy workload environment.
- Average of 13-15 patients per shift, with approximately 550 treatment minutes per shift (about 15 minutes per treatment).
- Charge RT role available, including running charge and clinical coordinator duties.
- Shifts start at 6:45 AM and 6:45 PM with a flexible clock-in window.
- Weekend and holiday rotations with permanent staff; weekend team schedules vary (M-Thurs or F-Sun).
- No on-call required.
- Orientation includes hospital and charting training, with additional ICU orientation if assigned there.
- Patient population includes adults and pediatrics; NICU RTs are managed separately.
- Ventilator models used: Servo U and I.
- Hospitalist or intensivist available in-house 24/7.
- Pharmacy available 24/7.
- EMR system: Meditech.
- Strict 75-mile radius travel rule applies.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Georgia Respiratory Therapist license required.
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (NRP required if assigned to NICU).
- Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required.
- Critical care experience required; must be able to work adult ICU and manage ventilators confidently.
- Prior travel experience required: must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract.
- Experience in a hospital with 300+ beds preferred.
- Comfortable with high patient volumes and critical care responsibilities including intubation and arterial line placement.
Additional Information
- Therapists will be interviewed by internal RNs; no second interview required.
- Scrub color: Ceil blue (jacket also allowed in ceil blue).
- Assignments based on unit; ICU therapists may manage up to 4 airways per shift.
- Common patient diagnoses include COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, cancers, etc.
- Floating is not applicable.
