Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Float

Location: Anderson, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Unit: 6 South, Medical Surgical
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Float Requirement: Yes, must float to other Medical Surgical units as needed
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Locals Accepted: Yes
  • Pending License Accepted: Yes, must obtain prior to starting

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience
  • Recent Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - as required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as required
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - preferred but not required for ER

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
  • Background Check: 7-year criminal history within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Transcript or diploma (required for Medical Lab Technicians and Cath Lab/EP Lab RNs)
  • Color Blindness Test (Ishihara) required for all RN candidates
  • Physical Exam within 1 year indicating good health
  • Fit Mask Test: Annual fit test required (N95 or equivalent)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within required timeframe
  • Immunizations or titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Drug Screening: 9-panel within 90 days of start
  • Flu Vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 1)
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Employment Application/Resume

Additional Notes

  • Must submit all Requested Time Off (RTO) with application
  • No visible nose piercing allowed in badge photo
  • Online orientation and facility-specific training required prior to start
  • Candidates with over 1 year at the facility must complete additional core training and stroke education

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of Medical Surgical experience who are flexible with floating and weekend shifts. First-time travel nurses are accepted.
